Flipboard for Android. Download it at Mobograf.com
Until recently, the ever so popular Flipboard app has been exclusive to the iOS environment, made only for the iphone and iPad. For those that don't know what Flipboard is and I would have to assume that being android users, Flipboard is best describe by the company as: " a social magazine that brings to life the stories, photos, news and updates being shared across Twitter and Facebook." But it also acts as an RSS aggregator and pulls the lastest news and information from blog world as well.
With the Launch of the new Samsung Galaxy SIII, attached to that device were several exclusives mainly Flipboard. This was Flipboards way of announcing to the world that they have gone Android. An excellent announcement for Android users worldwide. One caveat, though released on the new Galaxy, Flipboard announced that it would not be released in the Google Play store or for other android devices until later this summer. The reason for the very limited release is unknown but what was an exclusive to the new Galaxy is exclusive no more.
In less than a week, the Flipboard APK has been ripped from the Galaxy and made freely available. The rip, which was first shared on xda-developers.com forum page. The process of backing up and saving your .apks is really nothing new for android users, so why Flipboard felt the need to release for one device is not known. Plus it would have been a matter of time before this was done anyways.
Well MoboGraf.com obtained a copy of the .apk and has made it available for our users here on MobGraf.com.
I've had the opportunity to try out the app and it is every bit intuitive as the iPad and iPhone version. Flipboard has definitely stayed true to the design in the Android version. What I love about Flipboard is it's ease of use and it really is a great forum to stay up on the latest photography new.
